NOTES: This play ran for eleven weeks. During this run there were several changes made to the original cast list. The part of Mrs. Gildea was played by Angela Newman, the part of Cragg was played by Niall O Brien and the part of Knowles was played by Gerard Woods. Also Edward Golden took over the role of The Inspector and the Governor, Deirdre Purcell took over the role of the Policewoman and Michael Campion took over the role of Charlie Milwall and owing to the unexpected illness of Pat Layde The Prison Chaplin was played by John Kavanagh and the role of Tessie O Shea was played by Patrick O'Callaghan.
