To celebrate Culture Night 2024, join us at the Dress Rehearsal of our upcoming production, Grania
Be part of history and witness some of Ireland’s foremost theatre-makers at work, as this groundbreaking play is performed at the National Theatre of Ireland for the first time ever.
Grania was written in 1912 by Abbey co-founder Lady Gregory. This exciting new production is directed by Abbey Theatre Artistic Director, Caitríona McLaughlin.
Grania is based on the Irish legend of Gráinne, Diarmuid and Fionn. A story of love, lust, power and desire, friends are pitted against each other while a woman creates her own destiny, laying bare the tension between duty and passion.
