The Journey has been devised over the last three months during weekly meetings in Clondalkin Towers by residents of Clondalkin Towers, Dolcain House, and Red Cow International Protection Centres.

This project is proudly supported by the Abbey Theatre and South Dublin County Council, reflecting our commitment to amplifying diverse voices in the arts and hosted at the Civic Theatre.

Director

The play is directed by Nigerian film and theatre maker Newton Barabara, himself an IP applicant. Newton started putting on drama workshops in City West Transition Hub three years ago for his fellow residents. Since then, he has devised an approach to working with migrant communities, the Seven Scenes Programme, which led to the play Halfway to Heaven staged by International Organisation of Migration at City West in November 2024.
